Medical Billing Clerk - Lenexa, Kansas

Spencer Reed Group is looking for Medical Billers that are dedicated to only the highest standards of healthcare excellence, to support eight of our offices, located throughout the Kansas City metro area. We now seek four qualified, full time, Insurance Clerks at our busy processing facility in our Lenexa, KS facility.

Position Summary: The Insurance Clerk, or medical billing clerk, is responsible for posting payments from the insurance companies, all follow-up and correction of claims, and taking phone calls from patients.

• Re-works claims that have been returned for additional information.

• Posts payment information.

• Processes refund requests.

• Handles all incoming patient calls.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-4:30

Pay: $12-$16

Job Specifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Medical billing experience or completion of medical billing coursework preferred. Experience with GE Centricity.

Responsibilities include the following, and other duties that may be assigned:

  • Contacting insurance companies via phone or website to confirm coverage
  • Updating and maintaining patient insurance information
  • Adhering to all HIPAA and company regulations, policies, and procedures

We require basic PC knowledge, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook. You must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
