JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Legal Assistant/Secretary you will be supporting several attorneys and be responsible for the following:
Transcription and dictation of pleadings, correspondence, letters, memos and court documents. Generate revenues by inputting attorney billable time, and reimbursable expenses and reports.
Arrange and coordinate travel for attorney and others as it pertains to a case, maintain itineraries, travel vouchers, records and expense reimbursements.
Maintains attorney calendar by scheduling deadlines/docketing, conferences, court appearances, pleadings, depositions and other matters; utilize the time matters calendar.
Monitors approaching file and court deadlines; file court documents electronically when necessary.
Preparation of confidential and sensitive case information such as letters, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
Create and open new files, including sending firm-wide conflict checks; maintain information both in paper file and the electronic storage system; update file information such as client contact information, witness information; assist with coordinate case preparation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary
- Trial litigation preparation
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Motivated and able to work well under pressure/meet deadlines
- Word, Excel, and Outlook
