General Manager
Join a fast growing Residential Painting Company!
You will directly lead field operations and develop the people responsible for production, sales, and office/finance functions. You will be accountable for company results while partnering with the owner on strategy and major financial decisions. The owner currently leads marketing strategy and content; marketing expertise is not required.

Looking for a hands-on construction leader who can first show people what great looks like, then coach them to own the work themselves. You should be comfortable at a jobsite, in a financial review, and across a table from a customer or employee who needs a difficult conversation.

Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and hold accountable two Field Managers (painting and carpentry), the Office & Finance Manager, and the sales team; build confidence, independence, and a culture of ownership.
Oversee five production teams and subcontractor relationships through your Field Managers; protect safety, scheduling, workmanship, margins, and customer experience.
Lead regular reviews of company profitability, budgets, labor efficiency, job costs, revenue, pipeline, and departmental results; take corrective action instead of merely reporting numbers.
Lead weekly meeting with sales, Field Managers, Office & Finance Manager, and with the owner.
Coach Field Managers through customer concerns; personally intervene in significant escalations. Build lasting fixes for repeated workmanship or communication problems.
Participate in trade shows.

Requirements:

Proven leadership experience in residential construction, remodeling, exterior services, or a closely related field, including oversight of multiple crews and development of other leaders.
Practical, hands-on jobsite experience; enough construction knowledge to recognize quality or safety issues and demonstrate techniques in areas of your expertise. You do not need to be an expert in every trade.
Experience successfully working with and leading Spanish-speaking team members is required; Spanish-language proficiency is preferred.
Strong judgment, financial literacy, direct communication, calm customer problem-solving, and evidence of developing people—not just personally solving problems.
Ability to safely tow company trailers and work on ladders and active jobsites, with or without reasonable accommodation; valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive company vehicles.
Willingness to work approximately 50+ hours per week in busy periods and about 40 hours in the slower winter season, with availability for occasional after-hours matters and weekend shows.
