Lead Final Assembly Technician

Manufacturing                                    

Summary:  Position serves as a hands-on technician and leads the final assembly and die lift departments.  Position also assists with aligning resources with materials to meet the Master Production Schedule.

Time Utilization: Normal business hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm.  Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate internal and external customer’s schedules.  This position does not travel.  Lead coverage necessary for nights and weekends may be required based on customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:

Executes the master schedule for all assigned activities in designated work centers, assists in managing hourly to ensure labor is in place to meet the agreed upon schedule, communicating with supervisor when issues arise

Assists with projects and customer orders based on priorities from the Master Production Schedule.

Leading the Production Technicians in Final Assembly on daily work required to meet the customer delivery requirements.

Capable of being the backup for everyday activities and responsibilities when the Supervisor is not present including attending shop floor meetings and assigning work to other technicians as needed.

Order processing in SAP for releasing, printing, confirming, and inventory movements for production orders and service orders.

Oversite on all inventory movements and accuracy of all components in the final assembly area.

Able to back up any position within the departments due to PTO or unplanned absences.

Knowledge of assembly, testing and quality control responsibilities of all equipment in the final assembly department. Includes mechanical, electrical and functional inspections.

Absorption tracking and investigation, completing reports for the final assembly supervisor on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Responsible for backing up the roles of the Remanufacturing Planner in die lift and machines when needed.  Able to perform evaluations, order creations and scheduling.

Monitors the shop floor to ensure it is clean, safe and organized at all times

Capable of writing detailed SOPs with focus in continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but should be capable of taking a lead role in certain situations if required.
