DESCRIPTION:
Growing mono line workers’ compensation insurance carrier within the Midwest is seeking a Junior Underwriter. The ideal candidate would have a property casualty background with a focus in workers’ compensation and have obtained or be working towards their CPCU designation. No prior underwriting experience is required.
The successful candidate would be detail orientated and able to work under limited supervision while utilizing pre-designed criteria to develop workers’ compensation quotes and renewals.
Position will work closely with the claims and loss control department as well as agency partners to determine the acceptability, quality and profitability of new and existing business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives. Additionally will work with marketing department to identify agency training needs and current appetite.
The candidate will assist in analyzing regulatory compliance, evaluate impact of changes of legal interpretations, and the effect of new legislation on current territories. Must be able to apply independent thought and general knowledge of market conditions including demographic, regulatory, risk management programs and agency performance.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A CSR OR ACCOUNT MANAGER IN COMMERCIAL LINES INSURANCE AND AGENCY BACKGROUND PREFERRED
