DESCRIPTION:
Medical Malpractice Paralegal

Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in all phases of medical malpractice litigation, including case intake, investigation, discovery, and trial preparation
Review, organize, and summarize medical records, billing records and other case-related documents
Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests and responses
Coordinate and schedule depositions, medical examinations, and meetings with experts, and witnesses, as applicable
Conduct legal and medical research to support case strategy and development, as applicable
Conduct research to locate expert witnesses
Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and timely
Prepare exhibits and other materials for hearings, mediations, and trials
Trial attendance, as necessary
Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel
Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
Skills:
Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training.
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographic, or spelling errors.
Ability to review, organize, analyze, and summarize facts and documents.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Products.
Proficient in document management and case management software.
Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally or nationwide, via private or public transportation to assist attorney in representing clients.
4 Year Degree in Legal Studies or 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree with a Paralegal Certificate.
