Production Planner/Scheduler

Our client is seeking an experienced and very active production planner/scheduler who has experience in a manufacturing plant environment.   A primary skill needed is SAP/or applicable ERP system with hands-on knowledge and at least 2 years of experience.  

Primary Duties

  • Developing and planning for outbound trucks and rail schedule, including confirming trucks and rail shipment dates & times
  • The ability to do scheduling, planning and materials allocation for 20 different active production lines
  • Writing and maintaining updated Production Scheduling SOPs
  • Reviewing and analyzing current production schedule for potential delays that will prevent meeting schedule adherence and customer expectations
  • Prioritize batches and work with appropriate departments to ensure schedule adherence and customer expectations are met
  • Verify / order from warehouse raw materials needed to manufacture batches on schedule
  • Communicate with various teams and colleagues when batches go on hold
  • Interaction with other departments such as:  Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales and others as necessary to support schedule adherence
  • Release and print process orders / filling orders
  • Manage and update Production Schedule Board as batches are released and printed
  • Measures and reports schedule adherence performance daily
  • Operations contact for status of batches on the production schedule
  • Participate in new product process planning as appropriate
  • Managing and reporting schedules to the Operations team and Customer Solutions
  • Maintaining and recording trends for future production 
  • Reviewing schedules with leadership to ensure timely completion and reporting out to the  supply chain departments
  • Perform other functions as needed to ensure manufacturing has all materials needed to support plant schedule adherence as well as other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years manufacturing experience required
  • 2-3 years scheduling experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains a strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing all aspects of the job
  • Ability to work closely with other departments throughout the company
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • MS office, ERP/SAP experience required
