Seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious, modern law firm. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Litigation Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in handling toxic tort litigation cases, including those involving environmental contamination, chemical exposure, and product liability.

The Litigation Associate Attorney role is largely remote (~90%) with some occasional in-person work (~10%) required. Associate Attorneys who prefer to work more than ~10% in-person are welcome to work in the Firm’s Kansas City and/or St. Louis offices. The ideal candidate will reside in or around Missouri, Kansas, or Illinois.

The Litigation Associate Attorney will play an important and highly visible role on toxic tort litigation cases from initial investigation through trial.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in discovery processes, including depositions and document review.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and advise on legal issues.
  • Collaborate with witnesses such as environmental scientists and medical professionals.
  • Assist in negotiating settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Keep abreast of federal and state laws and regulations related to toxic tort and environmental issues.

Targeting candidates with 2+ years of litigation experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Strong analytical, research, and writing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines are a must. Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations such as TSCA, RCRA, CERCLA and/or related matters would be a plus, but that is flexible. JD and bar admission required. EOE
